As the final days of the year approach, many of us are busy reflecting on our "wins" and "losses." We naturally start listing our expectations for the year ahead: improving our health, fixing our credit, or paying off debt. While these goals are important, there is a higher priority that deserves a place at the very top of our to-do list: The Kingdom of God.

As we prepare for what the Lord is about to do, we must ask ourselves: Are we ready to "UNLOCK THE DOOR" to the assignments He has placed before us?

The Keys and the Commission

In Matthew 16:19, Jesus makes a profound promise to Peter: “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” These weren't physical keys, but spiritual authority—the power to bind and loose, and the responsibility to open the door of salvation to the world.

We see Peter use these keys for the first time in Acts 2. Standing with the eleven, empowered by the Holy Spirit, he didn't just give a speech; he unlocked the way for 3,000 souls to enter the Kingdom. When he preached in Acts 2:38, he provided the master key for all of us: Repentance, Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

You Are God’s Field

Every member of the body of Christ is vital. Whether you are planting seeds like Paul or watering them like Apollos, it is God who gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-9). You were ordained before you were even formed in your mother’s womb to be a carrier of His glory (Jeremiah 1:5).

To truly unlock these doors in the new year, we must:

  • Prioritize the Eternal: Set your mind on things above, not just earthly resolutions (Colossians 3:2).

  • Embrace Sacrifice: To follow Him, we must be willing to lay down our own way and take up our cross (Matthew 16:24).

  • Operate in Power: The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the "fuel" that empowers us to complete our God-given tasks.

A Promise for Generations

The keys to the Kingdom weren't just for Peter; they are a promise for you, your children, and the generations to follow. As we step into this New Year, let us equip our hearts to share the Plan of Salvation with all nations. Let's make it a goal that no man is left behind.

Are you ready to receive the keys? Are you prepared to unlock the door to someone’s deliverance?

A Prayer for the New Year

Abba Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We repent of our sins and ask You to purge anything within us that is not of You. Lord, we grab hold of the keys to Your Kingdom today. Help us to "UNLOCK THE DOOR" to Your Great Plan of Salvation for everyone we meet. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives as it is in Heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
