1. Our Commitment to You

JD&L Mission International Corp ("JD&L Mission," "we," "us," or "our") is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are grateful for the trust you place in us when you visit our website, give a donation, volunteer, or share a prayer request. We take that trust seriously.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease your personal information, your email address, or our donor list to anyone. Ever. We do not share your information with other organizations for their own marketing or fundraising purposes.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Give Us Directly

We collect information you choose to provide, such as when you make a donation, sign up for updates, volunteer, register for an event, or contact us. This may include:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Mailing address

  • Phone number

  • Donation amount, frequency, and any program designation

  • Volunteer interests, availability, and related information you submit on a form

  • Prayer requests, testimonies, messages, or other content you send us

  • Any other information you voluntarily include in a message or form

2.2 Payment Information

Donations are processed by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. When you enter your card details, that information goes directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection.

We do not collect or store your full credit or debit card number, card security code (CVV), or bank account credentials on our systems. From Stripe we receive only limited transaction data such as your name, email address, billing ZIP or postal code, donation amount and date, whether the gift is one-time or recurring, and the card brand and last four digits.

Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. We encourage you to read it.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our Site and our hosting provider automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, including:

  • IP address and general geographic location (city or region level)

  • Browser type and version, device type, and operating system

  • Pages you visit, links you click, and time spent on pages

  • The website or search engine that referred you

  • Date and time of your visit

This information is collected through cookies, server logs, and similar technologies and is used in aggregate to keep the Site secure and to understand how it is being used.

2.4 Information From Others

If you give through a third-party platform, respond to a social media post, or a friend gives in your honor or memory, we may receive your name and contact information from that source in order to acknowledge the gift.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We and our service providers use them to:

  • Keep the Site functioning properly and securely (essential cookies)

  • Remember your preferences

  • Understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve the Site (analytics cookies)

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may cause parts of the Site, including the donation form, to stop working correctly.

Our website is built and hosted using Hostinger, and donations are processed by Stripe; each may set cookies necessary for their services to function, including cookies Stripe uses for fraud prevention.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is currently no industry standard for responding to these signals, and our Site does not respond to them at this time.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for legitimate ministry and operational purposes, including to:

  • Process your donation and issue a receipt or tax acknowledgment

  • Manage recurring donations and communicate about them

  • Respond to your questions, prayer requests, and messages

  • Send you updates, newsletters, mission reports, and invitations (only where you have signed up or given previously, and always with a way to opt out)

  • Process volunteer applications and coordinate service opportunities

  • Maintain accurate donor and financial records

  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations, including IRS requirements for tax-exempt organizations

  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems

  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it

5. We Do Not Sell Your Information

To be explicit and unambiguous:

  • We do not sell your personal information.

  • We do not rent, trade, lease, or exchange donor lists, email lists, or mailing lists with other organizations, ministries, or commercial entities.

  • We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing, advertising, or fundraising purposes.

  • We do not use your information for targeted advertising.

6. When We May Share Information

We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:

Service providers. We use trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf, for example, Stripe for payment processing, Hostinger for website hosting, and email or accounting service providers. They receive only the information needed to perform their function and are required to protect it and use it only for that purpose.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of JD&L Mission, our community, or the public.

Public recognition with your permission. We will not publish your name as a donor without your consent. You may always request that your gift remain anonymous.

Organizational changes. If JD&L Mission merges with, is acquired by, or transfers its ministry operations to another nonprofit organization, donor and contact information may be transferred as part of that change, subject to the commitments in this Policy.

With your consent. In any other case, we will ask you first.

7. Email, Text, and Mail Communications

If you sign up for updates or make a donation, we may send you ministry updates, newsletters, event invitations, and appeals.

You can opt out at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email, replying STOP to any text message, or contacting us at jdlmissionintcorp@gmail.com or (845) 489-1166. We will honor your request promptly.

Even if you opt out of promotional messages, we may still send you transactional communications, donation receipts, tax acknowledgments, recurring-gift notices, and responses to your inquiries.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Policy, or as long as the law requires. Donation and financial records are generally retained for a minimum of seven (7) years to satisfy IRS, accounting, and audit requirements. Contact information for newsletter subscribers is retained until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.

9. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for data transmitted through the Site

  • Payment processing handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider, so card data never touches our systems

  • Access to donor and contact records limited to staff and volunteers who need it for their role

  • Regular updates to our website platform and software

Please understand that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of where you live, you may contact us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date

  • Delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to keep (such as donation records)

  • Opt out of newsletters, appeals, and other non-transactional communications

  • Request anonymity for your gift

  • Cancel a recurring donation

To exercise any of these, email jdlmissionintcorp@gmail.com or call (845) 489-1166. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Residents of certain states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others) and of jurisdictions with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights. Note that many state privacy laws exempt nonprofit organizations, but we honor the requests above for everyone who asks, as a matter of practice.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at jdlmissionintcorp@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Where children participate in our programs or events, we collect information about them only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and we handle it with particular care.

12. International Visitors

JD&L Mission is based in the United States, and our Site and service providers are located in the United States. If you access the Site or donate from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to that transfer.

13. Links to Other Sites

The Site may link to third-party websites, including Stripe, social media platforms, and partner ministries. This Policy does not apply to those sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, provide additional notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
