“Be careful not to forget the Lord, who rescued you from slavery...” — Deuteronomy 6:12

In the rush of our daily lives, it is easy to focus only on the road ahead. But throughout Scripture, God often commanded His people to stop and look back. For the Israelites, remembering Egypt wasn't about dwelling on the pain of slavery; it was about celebrating the strong hand of God that brought them out.

As we await the return of our King, it is vital to keep our lamps filled with oil. One of the best ways to do that is by reflecting on the “UNFORGETTABLE” memories of what Jesus has done for us.

Building Your Twelve Stones

In Joshua 4, the Lord instructed the Israelites to take twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River to build a memorial. This wasn't just for them—it was for their children. It was a physical reminder that “the Lord’s hand is powerful” (Joshua 4:24).

We all have these "stones" in our lives:

The Day of Your "Yes": Like that unforgettable moment on January 11, 2015, when I was baptized in Jesus’ name, our spiritual birthdays mark the end of our slavery to sin.
Miracles in the Pit: We see God’s faithfulness not just in our lives, but in our brothers and sisters. Whether it was surviving a pandemic or escaping a "horrible pit," every testimony is a stone in the memorial of God’s mercy.
Hope in the Grief: Even in "awful times," like those described in Lamentations 3, we dare to hope because we remember that His mercies are new every morning.

Letting Go to Move Higher

You may have memories you don't want to revisit—hurt, bitterness, or regret. But today is the day of salvation! When we give those broken areas to Jesus, He transforms them.

The disciple Stephen, while being stoned, looked up and saw the glory of God. His final memory on earth wasn't the pain of the stones, but the vision of Jesus standing for him. When we release our cares to Him, our relationship deepens, and our spiritual walk is elevated to a higher level.

Living as Citizens of Heaven

As Kingdom citizens, we are called to be "living stones" built into a spiritual temple (1 Peter 2:4-5). Our duty is simple yet profound: to fear God, keep His commandments, and live in a manner worthy of the Good News (Philippians 1:27).

Don't forget where He brought you from. When you remember the chains that once bound you, you can truly celebrate the FREEDOM you now have in Christ.
