Be Like an E.A.G.L.E.

Are you ready to soar? Using the eagle as a powerful biblical analogy, this blog explores the journey from a purposeless life to a "7th-dimension" connection with God. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”Isaiah 40:31

  • G: Giving our body as a living sacrifice

  • L: Limitless God

  • E: Everlasting life in Christ

Praise the Lord! I give God thanks for you today. We are grateful to Him for bringing us through another week! Our God is truly a good Father; He promised His followers, “Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

Like the Apostle Paul, we must find encouragement even in challenging times. Paul reminded the Church of Corinth that while we may be hard-pressed, we are not crushed. We carry the life of Jesus in our bodies so His glory can be revealed through us (1 Corinthians 4:8-10). Last week, we spoke about being valued and necessary. This week, I pray we all strive to Be like an E.A.G.L.E.

Finding Light in the Tunnel

The Book of Isaiah contains beautiful promises of redemption. When Israel felt abandoned, thinking their way was hidden from the Lord, Isaiah offered a "light at the end of the tunnel." He reminded them that the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, never grows weary. He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of those with no might (Isaiah 40:27-31).

Isaiah was often called the “eagle-eye” prophet because he could see far into the future, foretelling the coming of Jesus. By saying “Yes” to God’s call, Isaiah decided to live like an eagle, soaring into a higher dimension of faith.

The Symbolism of the Nesher

In the Old Testament, the eagle (Hebrew: nesher) is used as a symbol of God’s loving care 28 times. In Exodus 19:4, God says, “I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.” Think about how a baby eaglet depends entirely on its parents. As children of God, we must depend on the Lord in the same way. Eaglets stay close to the nest and imitate the adult birds until they are ready to fly. To learn to soar, we must stay close to our "nest"—the presence of God—by reading His Word, seeking His will, and imitating His character.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding... then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones." (Proverbs 3:5-8)

Rising Through the 7 Dimensions

To fulfill God’s assignment, we must grow through different dimensions of spiritual maturity. During my time in Bible College, I learned about seven dimensions of leadership and life:

DimensionDescription1stLiving without purpose; slow, visionless movement.2ndSelf-centered living; "What is in it for me?"3rdLiving in a "closed box"; believing your narrow view is the only way.4thThe Lid is Removed. Entering the Kingdom mindset (Pentecost power).5thProgressive growth and expanded vision aligned with God's Word.6thThe Dimension of Love. Loving God and neighbor above all else.7thThe Ultimate Goal. Perfect oneness with God in the resurrection.

Isaiah exceeded the 4th dimension because he heard the voice of the Lord and replied, "Send me" (Isaiah 6:8). This is the same response Jesus expects from us today as we fulfill the Great Commission.

A Prayer to Soar

Let our hearts’ desire be to become an E.A.G.L.E. and exceed the lower dimensions for a higher call in Christ Jesus.

Dear ABBA,

I pray our hearts will be like the eagle as we desire to Enlighten ourselves with Your Holy Word. Ignite our spirits! We are hungry for more of You and less of us. Activate the gifts that live within our souls. We die to ourselves daily, Giving our minds, bodies, and souls to You. Help us never to place You in a box, for You are a Limitless God. Thank You for sending Jesus so that we can have Everlasting life. We press toward that 7th dimension—perfect oneness with You. AMEN.
