Adjusting in the Potter’s Hands: Finding Peace in the Process

Oh, praise the Lord with me! I truly hope you had a peaceful week. Today, I want to remind you of a beautiful truth: your life is in the Potter’s hands. His name is Jesus—the only name under heaven by which we must be saved. No matter where you are or what you are facing, be encouraged. Our Sovereign Lord is unfailing, and He knows exactly what He has planned for you. When we walk in faith, we experience a peace that the world cannot give. Glory, Hallelujah!

The Art of the Adjustment

As children of God, learning to "adjust" while in the Potter's hands is vital. This past week, despite my own carefully laid plans, I was met with a series of unexpected changes. From challenges at work to family concerns and friends facing health issues, the "unexpected" seemed to be everywhere.

In the natural, we say "life happens," implying that things are out of our control. But nothing catches God by surprise. You might wonder, “How can I possibly adjust when everything is shifting?” I am a living witness that when you make Jesus the center, He eases your mind even in the most difficult circumstances.

Think of the eagle. An eagle doesn’t run from the storm; it uses the wind of the storm to lift itself higher. It adjusts its wings to rise above the clouds where the air is calm. The Lord wants to take us higher, using our trials not to break us, but to lift us.

Molded by Design

Our focus scripture in Jeremiah 18 is a powerful reminder that God is in total control. He is the Potter; we are the clay. This means He has the right to do whatever He desires with our lives. He molds us, shapes us, and rids us of our "spoiled" parts to make us into vessels that display His goodness and glory.

If you are facing a situation that seems too heavy to bear, remember: Prayer changes everything. The Apostle Paul gave us the perfect "recipe" for peace in Philippians 4:6-8. He tells us not to be anxious about anything, but to bring everything to God with thanksgiving. When we do this, God’s peace—the kind that stands guard over our hearts—becomes ours.

Reworked for His Glory

In Jeremiah 18:4, it says that when the vessel the potter was making was spoiled, he didn't throw the clay away. Instead, he “made it over, reworking it into another pot that seemed good to him.” The Lord knows we are human. He knows we have flaws. But remember, in our weakness, His strength is made perfect. His mercies are new every morning, and He is faithful in everything He does (Psalm 145:13).

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is a love letter documenting God's faithfulness. Just as Jeremiah went down to the potter’s house and heard the Word of the Lord, let us have a heart’s desire to stay on the wheel. Let us be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1-2), adjusting daily in the Potter’s hand for His ultimate glory.
