Mark 11:18-19
“When the leading priests and teachers of religious law heard what Jesus had done, they began planning how to kill him. But they were afraid of him because the people were amazed at his teaching. That evening Jesus and the disciples left the city”. (NLT)
The Word of God declares in John 1:4-5, “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it”. Jesus came into this world that we can receive this Great Salvation. For all those who don’t believe can receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. When we receive this light, others will be drawn unto Christ to continue the Great Commission- To WIN SOULS! We live in a dark world that has no desire to be drawn to Jesus. As a matter of fact, the darkness cannot comprehend the light. However, there is good news! Jesus came to pay the price once for all and made us free! (Colossians 1:14). For with God, nothing is impossible. We have been given authority in Christ Jesus, as children of God, to preach God’s Word to all nations for all to receive. He has called us to “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received” (Mark 10:8). This Word must go forth that dry bones can live again! Fear not, for the Lord thy God is with you!! If Christ be for you, who can stand against you? As we read this portion of scripture in the book of Mark 11:18-19- the people were amazed at Jesus teaching that although they wanted to kill Him, His Word was His protection. His mission had to be fulfilled and nothing could stop the plan of God to save us from our sins. Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice for you and me. The world desire is to turn our minds against the things of God. However, we shall endure, for, 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure”. Jesus and His disciples left the city in perfect peace, which reveals to us that when we walk with Jesus’ daily there’s no need to fear. The WORD works!
If you are reading this devotion today, and you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, please harden not your heart. Jesus said, in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me”. We must submit before its too late. “And Just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgement” (Hebrew 9:27). The kingdom of heaven is at hand! Let us GO teach, preach, and make disciples. To see the lives of God’s people loosed from the bondage of sin and transformed by the Word of God. Will you say Yes to Jesus today?
Let your light shine for Jesus!
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden”
Lets pray:
We thank you Jesus for your Word that brings light unto our path. We repent of our sins and acknowledge that we need you as our savior to cleanse us. How can a young man can cleanse His way? by taking heed unto the Word of God. We praise you alone mighty God and adore you.” For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires” (Hebrew 4:12). Let your Word examine our hearts and expose the issues that hinder us from walking in your light. For your WORD works, so that lives can be renewed, transformed and made whole. Help us to be bold and courageous to teach, preach and make disciples despite the persecution that will come. We desire a closer walk with you and for our lives to be transformed by your Word. In Jesus name, Amen.
