Exodus 12:6-7
“Take special care of this chosen animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of this first month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel must slaughter their lamb or young goat at twilight. They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the sides and top of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the animal".
We are living in perilous times, where the signs are evident all arounds us. 2 Timothy 3:1 says, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come ''. It's very important to know that we all need a savior, and His name is Jesus. In the book of Exodus, we see the Lord raise up Moses to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. At first Moses was afraid to step out and do what the Lord said, but when he finally obeyed the Lord, he saw the mighty hand of God deliver them slowly but surely from their enemies. One of the commands the Lord told Moses was for the whole assembly to slaughter a special lamb and place the blood over the door frames of the house where they eat. As I read this particular scripture, the Lord gave me a revelation, on the specific instructions given to take care of this special lamb and the blood. Jesus represents the lamb that was slain for us to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit and His blood shed is our protection. Exodus 12:13 states, “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt”. We must remember that our homes should be a Holy place, where the Lord can abide. A place that when anyone enters through the door, they feel the presence of God. There should be a sweet aroma of His glory!! Daily prayer, worship, fasting and thanksgiving should be the lifestyle of this home. Where is the watchman at the door? We must be spiritually awake. Guarding the gateway from the enemy. Let us ask ourselves today, what are we entertaining? What radio station or tv channel do we have playing in the atmosphere? What are we allowing to enter through our ears or eyes? The Word must be spoken in our home. ".....For man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). For our God, is the living Word!! When we arise in the morning let's eat His Word. As we walk through the door let us sing His Word. At all times we must give Him thanks. The enemy doesn't want us to give thanks unto the Lord when issues. He wants us to focus on the issues, murmur, complain and allow fear to cripple us. When the children of Israel were discouraged by Pharoah, they started to cry out complaining..."what have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?". Let us worship the Lord at all times, remembering that He has delivered us from darkness into His marvelous light. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!! We are His temple that His Presence must abide but the home that we physically live in- His blood should be smeared across our door post. As we pursue to live a life pleasing unto the Lord and be obedient to His Word, He will cover us from all danger. Jesus’ blood is the remedy. Because of Moses obedience he could stand before the people, to declare "... Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever" (Exodus 14:13).
Let us submit to the Word of God!! OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE! (1 Samuel 15:22).
Please set time aside to read the scriptures referenced throughout.
We pray this worship video- “In times like these” encourages you this week.
Prayer:
Oh, precious lamb of God, today we surrender all to you. We recognized that we are just a lump of clay in your hands that desire to be molded and made in thy own will. Keep us we pray under your wings that we can abide in you. Your Word declared, if we abide in you me, ill abide in you. Let your Word be written across the tablet of our hearts. When temptation comes upon us, help.us to resist the enemy and he will flee. Lord, we thank you for your sweet Word that brings life. David said. oh, taste and see that the Lord is good". We pray that we will experience your presence all the days of our lives. In Jesus name, Amen...
"Then sings my souls my Saviour God to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art!". May the entrance of the word bring light to those who seek our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May his spirit guide us to His truth. For soon His word will become a famine upon the land. Let us feed upon it now while it is still a privilege for us. I pray the Lord will continue to use this mission for his mission.
