Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (NIV).
This is the day that the Lord has made, and we shall rejoice and be glad in it! Every day that we open our eyes is a gift from God that reveals His blessings towards us. As a matter of fact, it’s not only a gift to open our eyes, but a gift to know that all the organs in our bodies are functioning together effectively. According to organdonor.gov, Did you know that there are more than 100,000 people on the national organ transplant waiting list? 17 people die each day waiting for an organ transplant to become available and every 10 minutes another person is added to a transplant waiting list. With all this being said, people rely on organizations such as LiveOnNY that’s missioned to honor, change and save lives through organ and tissue donation. Our bodies are Gods temple that we must never take for granted, but honor because it belongs to the Lord. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 states, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies”.
I am a witness to know that LiveOnNY has been a blessing to many persons that were waiting on a list for a heart, kidney, and liver transplant. However, if we truly think about our relationship with Christ, LiveOnNY mission can be compared to our mission as disciples for Christ. We are commissioned to win souls for the Kingdom of God- to tell the world Jesus saves. In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus 11 disciples met with Him up a mountain- where He told them to “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit".
He gave a command for all believers to go tell non-believers, the greatest LIVE ON is through the offering of Jesus Christ. In order to survive in a sinful world, we need Jesus, the living water. John 7:37-39 says, “On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.” (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)
If we are filled with His Spirit, the greater one always LIVE ON inside of us until eternity. For “greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
In Matthew 4, Jesus was in the wilderness, where satan tempted Him with the things of this world. However, Jesus’ response was the written Word, that man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. As children of God, we will go through trials and tribulation.
According to Raymond Woodward, an Apostolic preacher, preached on the topic “the four lanes of prayer”. He stated, “Develop the habit of daily prayer. The purpose is not to do it perfectly but the purpose is to do it consistently”. Daily conversations (prayer) with Jesus help us to LIVE ON day by day with confidence following the instructions of His Word. No matter the ending we will live on forever eternally. Paul the Apostle understood the true meaning of living. He explains, in Philippians 1:21-23, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far”. Paul, Gods chosen vessel, was called to win souls for the Kingdom. He wrote this letter to the Church in Philippi from prison; for he wanted to encourage the Church that despite the circumstances they face God is in control.
As mentioned earlier, that I am a witness that LiveOnNY blessed many persons in need of an organ transplant. However, I’ve also witnessed persons who were not a candidate for a transplant or they received an organ transplant but experienced acute rejection. However, there is still hope as we Live on in Jesus’ name, when God chooses to call us home to eternal life in heaven.
Let us choose the “better by far” choice that will be rewarding. If you are not saved, don’t wait until you’re in desperate need of something or sickness. Reach out to Jesus in prayer continuously, worship the Lord God with all your heart and the study of the living Word.
Dear Abba Father,
We thank you for loving us so much, that you sent your one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. With confidence helps us to LIVE ON in you Christ Jesus, for you came manifested in flesh to die for our sins. We thank you, that your word declares in Acts 17:28 “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring”. We have been given life spiritually because of the shedding of your blood on Calvary Cross. We pray for boldness to go forth to spread the Good News of the Gospel. For you are the way, the truth, and the life. Helps us Lord, to live on with great confidence that you are all we need to survive, In Jesus name.
Matthew 13:16 “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear”
Please take the time to read the scriptures throughout.
When we truly trust God,” delay doesn’t mean’s denied.” God is testing our faith on a daily basis to see how much we trust him, I’m happy that this sister never gave up. God will never give up on us, or go back on his promises. Many times our blessings is right around the corner, a second away but we lost faith and hope and give up. “God’s promises still stands.” Thank you for reminding us my sister 🙏🏽
