1 Peter 1:8-10
“You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward of trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you” (NLT)
The Lord wants us to know Him, to acknowledge that He is Sovereign (Supreme Power & authority) over all the earth. The Bible says, “The earth is the LORD’S and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers” (Psalms 24:1-2). When we acknowledge this revelation about our Lord Jesus, we can conquer all things through Christ that gives us strength. There’s a sweet joy the Lord wants us to experience when we build our confidence in who God is!! In Revelation 22:13 the Lord declares, “I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (NLT). As a Child of God, he wants us to truly receive his perfect love as the foundation that anchors our soul. Paul, said, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?” (Romans 8:35, NLT).
Have you ever, started a conversation over the phone or in person with someone and the more you go deeper into that conversation the harder it is to disconnect the call? Last night, driving home from work, the Lord took me down memory lane. When I pulled out of the parking lot, I had no words to pray at that moment. As I continued to drive in silence, I heard a familiar song called “I feel good, every time I talk about Jesus”, loud and clear in my spirit; The Lord reminded me of conversations I’ve had over the phone, with Jesus being the center of the conversation. He reminded me of moments driving home, tired, and anxious to reach home after long hours of work; but as soon as I start worshipping with all my heart- I felt revived! He reminded me of times a phone call would come in at the perfect time that I needed encouragement and as soon as the person opened their mouth talking about Jesus- it’s like an electricity running through my body.
I am sure there are many that can testify about this same experience- “I feel good, every time I talk about Jesus!”. There is a JOY UNSPEAKABLE way down in your soul that you can’t explain. The word reminds us, in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and at his right hand there are pleasures forever more (Psalm 16:11). Jesus knows we are going to experience ups and downs in our lives; however, he wants us to be reminded with great HOPE in our souls that He is faithful. The Prophet Jeremiah gives a great example in the book Lamentations, where He had hope and encouraged himself in the Lord. Lamentations 3:20-25 says, “I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will have hope in him!”. The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him” (NLT).
When we have a personal relationship with Jesus, his desires are for us to fall deeper in love with him. The more we seek him, the more we will find him! He craves our attention so that we can know him more through his WORD! Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (KJV). JD&L Mission encourages you, don’t lose hope!! Keep your head up and be reminded, the Lord will remind you of His goodness! He will send help from the east, west, north and south just to remind you how much He loves you! That’s the GOD we serve!! Embrace every moment of it, in Jesus’ name!
John 14:26 “But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (KJV)
