Jeremiah 18:5-6
“Then the word of the LORD came to me: O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does? “says the LORD. “Look carefully, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel” (AMP)
Oh praise the Lord with me! I truly hope you had a peaceful week. I want to take this time to remind you that your life is in the Potter’s hand. The Potter whose name is Jesus. The only name under Heaven by which we must be saved. No matter where you are in life, or what is going on, I want to encourage you today that the God we serve is unfailing. Our Sovereign LORD knows the plans He has for you and for me. Therefore, as we walk in faith and with the understanding of who we are in Jesus, we will experience His PEACE. Gloreh Hallelujah!
Adjusting in the Potter’s hand is vital as children of God. As I went throughout this past week, in spite of my personal plans, there were so many unexpected changes I had to make. I faced challenges on my job, with my family, and even with friends who are now facing health issues. Yet sure enough, nothing that I was facing caught God by surprise. Some would say, “Life happens” which implies, there are things we can’t control, foresee, or prepare for. The future is unknown, and anything could happen. Just like me, you may have wondered, how can I make adjustments in the midst of all that was happening? Yet today, I am a living witness that when you allow Jesus, the Potter to become the center of your life, He will ease your mind in the midst of the most difficult circumstances. The Lord wants to take us higher in Him. Like an Eagle in flight, the eagle has to learn how to adjust in any type of weather condition. The eagle is the challenger of storms, the bird who doesn’t try to escape, but instead simply uses the situation to lift itself higher- knowing there is peace above the storm.
In our focus scripture, Jeremiah 18:5-6 it reminds us that God is in control. It is a powerful description of how our lives are in the hands of God. This scripture reveals to us, that God can do whatever He desires with our lives. Like clay, He can mold us and make us His vessels. Vessels to display His goodness, and His glory through.
Saints let us continue to thank God, for His Word that brings light into every dark situation. If you’re facing a situation in your life, that seems too much for you to bear, just remember- Prayer changes everything!! Paul the Apostles, gave us the direct ingredients in Philippians 4:6-8 (Amp). It says, “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].”
Jeremiah 18:1-4 also states, “The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will make you hear My Words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and saw that he was working at the wheel. But the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled by the potter’s hand; so he made it over, reworking it and making it unto another pot that seemed good to him.”
The Lord knows we are only human, but remember in our weakness His strength is made perfect. For His mercies are new every morning and “The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does (Psalm 145:13).” Daily as we read the Word of God, it constantly reminds us from Genesis to Revelation of His loving mercies and faithfulness towards His children. Just like Jeremiah, who heard the Word of God and had an understanding that God our creator formed and fashioned us from the beginning; let’s have a heart’s desire to continually be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:1-2)- Adjusting in the Potter’s hand for His Glory, In Jesus name, Amen.
Be blessed!
Please take the time to read the scriptures throughout!.
