"A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS"

Ephesians 4:32

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (KJV)

It's truly a privilege to be alive today and to give God thanks for His endless mercies! The very air that we breathe is more than enough to give our heavenly Father thanks!

If we can just pause for one moment to reflect on the goodness of God; our minds would be overwhelmed with the thoughts and memories of His unfailing love. Many times I stop, to think about the seen and unseen dangers that I am protected from day by day. The Psalmist David declared, “ For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations (Psalm 100:5).”  Jesus exemplified the importance of being kind, faithful, tenderhearted, compassionate and loving to all of us with His perfect sacrifice on the cross for our sins. An Act of LOVE so great, that none of us could ever repay him for it.  An act paid in FULL!!

I would like to take this time to shed light on “A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS”, goes a mighty long way! Paul the Apostle, encourages the Church to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, and forgiving, just as Christ did for us. I can recall one day going to work and I was low on cash. I had no choice but to trust the Lord that He would provide. During my break I went to the cafeteria to get food.  As I was standing in the line, I saw a coworker, who was reluctant to join the long line behind me. At that moment, I started to remember what it was like trying to grab a quick bite to eat with minimum time to get back to work. Therefore, I reached out to get his attention, offering to order his food. With a smile on his face, he said, "yes, thanks so much". After ordering both of our meals, we joined the line to pay at the same time. Not expecting it, he grabbed my plate of food and told the cashier, “I’m paying for both meals.” I honestly didn’t expect it, but was truly grateful. With a joyful heart, I expressed how much I really appreciated his kind gesture. His response was, "Oh that's nothing", but it made a big difference to me. He never knew, going to work that day, I was concerned about not having enough money to buy lunch. He never knew that God used him to deliver “A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS” to someone who was really in need. This act made my heart smile, and was a reminder that God is watching over me.

Our Heavenly Father cares about every situation that we are facing, even when we don’t verbally or physically express it for others to know. Luke 12:6-7 tells us, “What is the price of five sparrows-two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows (NLT).”

As human beings, walking in this world full of challenges, we never know what someone is going through. Sometimes the people with the biggest smile are struggling and you would never know unless they tell you. However, we can make a big difference, simply by “A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS”. As Jesus' disciples, we have been given the Great Commission (outlined in Matthew 28:16-20) to spread the Gospel to all the nations of the world.  “A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS” is an open door to reach souls that need to be saved.

Whatever your plans are this weekend, or the days ahead let us remember, “A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS” goes a long way!! Many souls are waiting to see your smile.
